How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Chartered Building Surveyor

    Immediate opportunity for a Building Surveyor to join a prominent public sector organisation in Glasgow on a contract basis.

    My client is a prominent public sector organisation who manage a billion-pound commercial portfolio which includes over 1800 assets in retail, office, industrial and mixed used properties. They have an incredible opportunity for a Chartered Building Surveyor to join the team.
    The appointed Surveyor will work within the Technical Team, providing a diverse range of duties in connection with the management of the investment portfolio. You would require to deliver projects ranging from circa £50k - £2M

    Key Responsibilities:

    Delivery of projects undertaking a wide range of Building Surveying services including, serving and negotiating dilapidations, schedules of condition, condition surveys, pre-acquisition surveys, fire insurance/reinstatement valuations, feasibility studies and landlord consents.
    Working collaboratively with the stakeholders, developing networks that support decision making.
    Contributing to the development and implementation of a robust Asset Management Rating system.
    Responsible for ensuring Health and Safety and risk management procedures are understood and adhered to.
    Procuring services and works contracts whilst achieving best value.
    Contract administer projects from inception to completion to programme, budget and quality.
    Prepare and manage planned preventative maintenance programmes.
    Stock condition rating of the investment portfolio on a rolling programme.
    Improve sustainability and energy performance of the investment portfolio.
    Providing support and due diligence to the Asset Maximisation and Investment teams.
    Required Skills:

    Experience of working on a diverse portfolio of non-domestic assets.
    Demonstrate strong influencing and negotiation skills and have a proven track record in all aspects of building surveying.
    Experience in preparation of property option reports for potential development opportunities.
    Knowledge of current statutory and legislative requirements
    Excellent communication, presentation and report writing skills.
    Excellent time management, analytical and problem-solving skills.
    Excellent Client management skills.
    Skilled in the use of information technology including all Microsoft programmes.Additional Qualifications:

    Chartered Surveyor - Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors
    Commitment to CPD providing supporting evidence
    Full driving licenceOn Offer:

    Minimum 6 months contract
    Flexible hybrid working with 2 days in the office
    Payment options through Limited company, PAYE or Umbrella
