How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job Description:

    Job Summary
    We are seeking an experienced Project Manager / Senior Project Manager specialising in Civil Engineering within the Energy & Infrastructure sector. The successful candidate will oversee complex projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and to the highest standards. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead multidisciplinary teams, coordinate with stakeholders, and contribute to vital infrastructure developments. Candidates should possess strong organisational skills, technical expertise, and a proactive approach to project management.

    * The Agent, reporting to the Contracts Manager, is the Responsible Person representing the Company in all matters on site.

    * This is a site-based role which may require stays away from home from time to time depending on project location.

    * The Agent manages safe construction at site ensuring the work is done according to the contract, drawings, and specifications while meeting or bettering tender targets and programme.

    * The Agent ensures compliance with current legislation, ACoPs, Company procedures and Employers Requirements.

    * The Agent is responsible for procuring and managing subcontracts, plant, labour, and materials. All buying is done from site.

    * The Agent reviews costs on a weekly and monthly basis.

    * The Quantity Surveyor assists the Agent to produce monthly CVR’s and applications for payment.

    * The Agent coordinates with the Employer or Engineer to ensure obligations are met, and the Company's rights under the contract are protected.

    * The Agent does this by ensuring timely applications for payment, issuing contract notices on time and additional items of work are identified and valued, all in accordance with the conditions of contract.

    * The Agent is the primary point of contact for all communications relating to the project and acts as the conduit for instructions from the Engineer (the Employer's representative) to the Contractor.

    * The Agent is authorised to receive and act upon instructions, notices, and information issued by the Engineer regarding the progress and technical requirements of the works.

    * The Agent manages the planning and organisation of on-site tasks, ensuring resources are used efficiently and effectively to construct the project safely.

    * The Agent is responsible for ensuring the Works are inspected as they proceed to ensure they meet the required specifications and standards through management of ITPs.

    * The Agent is tasked with managing risks and ensuring that safe systems of work and health and safety legislation are followed on-site.

    * The Agent identifies technical or physical problems during construction and is responsible for developing solutions to control project costs and timelines.

    * The Agent manages a team of technical and commercial staff to whom tasks are delegated to assist the Agent in fulfilment of the role.

    * On large projects, the Agent may manage multiple sub-agents who are assigned to specific work packages or sections of the site.

    * The Agent ensures contract documentation is reviewed and the Contractor’s obligations under the contract for the project are met.

    * The Agent ensures documents such as Construction Phase Plan, Peat Management Plan, Construction Environmental Management Plan, ITPs and RAMS are drafted and submitted on time. Ideally, the Agent holds a degree in Civil Engineering. HND in Civil Engineering may be acceptable
