How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Make a Lasting Impact in a Specialist SEN Setting

We are recruiting for a SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a warm, welcoming, and highly supportive independent SEN secondary school in Coventry. This small specialist setting provides a nurturing environment for young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, where strong relationships and individual support are at the heart of everything they do.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning and achieve success both in and out of the classroom.

    The Role
Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with SEMH needs.
Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils to promote engagement and confidence.
Support teachers in delivering tailored learning activities.
Encourage positive behaviour and emotional regulation strategies.
Assist students in developing social skills, resilience, and independence.
Work collaboratively with teaching staff and pastoral teams to ensure the best outcomes for pupils.
    What We're Looking For
Experience working with children or young people with SEMH, SEN, or behavioural needs is desirable.
A calm, patient, and resilient approach.
    Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable young people.
Ability to remain positive and adaptable in a dynamic school environment.
    What's on Offer
The opportunity to work in a small, friendly independent SEN school.
A supportive leadership team that values staff wellbeing.
Ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
A rewarding role where you can make a genuine difference every day.
A close-knit team with a strong sense of community and purpose.

If you're looking for a fulfilling role within a caring and specialist educational setting, we'd love to hear from you.

Apply today by submitting your CV and a brief cover letter outlining your experience and suitability for the role.
