How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    About the Role

    We are looking for an experienced Senior CNC Miller to join a busy machining team. This is a senior hands-on position, ideal for someone who enjoys programming and running machines while also supporting other team members with technical guidance.

    This is not a heavy management role. The successful candidate will remain primarily hands-on, spending most of their time programming, setting and operating CNC milling machines. Alongside this, they will help support less experienced machinists, troubleshoot machining issues and assist with shift coordination.

    Role Breakdown

    * 60–70% programming, setting and running CNC machines.

    * 20–30% providing technical guidance and support to team members.

    * 10–20% helping coordinate shift activity.

    No heavy HR responsibilities or constant reporting are required.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Programme, set and operate CNC milling machines.

    * Produce precision machined components to specification.

    * Work from engineering drawings and technical instructions.

    * Edit programmes and make machine adjustments where needed.

    * Support other machinists with technical queries.

    * Troubleshoot tooling, machining and production issues.

    * Assist with shift workflow and job coordination.

    * Maintain quality standards across machining operations.

    * Help improve efficiency and reduce downtime.

    * Lead by example through strong technical ability and professional standards.

    * Support a safe, organised and productive workshop environment.

    Requirements

    * Strong CNC milling experience.

    * Programming, setting and operating experience.

    * Confident reading and interpreting engineering drawings.

    * Able to troubleshoot machining, tooling and quality issues.

    * Experience supporting or mentoring other machinists would be beneficial.

    * Able to help coordinate work during a shift.

    * Strong understanding of machining processes, tooling and offsets.

    * Reliable, professional and team-focused.

    * Comfortable working shifts.

    * Suitable for someone who wants a senior hands-on role without heavy people management.
