How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    - Functional Safety activities and SIS lifecycle management

    - Mix of design, project, commissioning, and troubleshooting work

    - Ownership of instrumentation and control system improvements

    - Opportunity to influence asset reliability and plant performance

    Key Responsibilities

    - Acting as the site focal point for Functional Safety and SIS compliance

    - Leading SIL assessments, SIL verification, and Safety Requirement Specifications (SRS) development

    - Designing and implementing control system and instrumentation upgrades

    - Specifying instrumentation including pressure, flow, level, temperature, and analytical equipment

    - Supporting hazardous area compliance and instrumentation design reviews

    - Managing SIS, PLC, and control system modification projects

    - Supporting commissioning, testing, and start-up activities

    - Providing technical support for operational issues, fault finding, and root cause analysis

    - Reviewing vendor packages and technical documentation

    - Working closely with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to improve plant performance

    Requirements

    - HNC, Degree, or equivalent qualification in Control, Instrumentation, Electrical, or related Engineering discipline

    - Strong experience with Functional Safety standards IEC 61508 and IEC 61511

    - Experience with Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) and SIL verification activities

    - Knowledge of hazardous area regulations and BS EN 60079 standards

    - Experience specifying and commissioning field instrumentation and control systems

    - Background within energy, oil & gas, chemicals, industrial gases, power generation, or other process industries

    - Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capability

    - Comfortable working directly with plant operations and maintenance teams
