How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Senior Civil Engineer - London

    London | £40,000 - £55,000

A well-established structural and civil engineering consultancy is looking to appoint a Senior Civil Engineer to join its London office.

The business has built an excellent reputation delivering high-quality engineering solutions across residential, commercial, education, heritage and mixed-use developments throughout London and the South East. Working closely with leading architects, developers and project teams, they are involved in a wide range of architecturally-led and technically challenging projects from concept through to construction.
Due to a growing workload, they are looking to strengthen the civil engineering team with a technically strong engineer who enjoys project delivery and design work. This is not a management role and there is no expectation to build or lead a team. Instead, the focus is on delivering high-quality highways, drainage and infrastructure designs across a diverse project portfolio.

    The Role

Deliver highways, drainage and development infrastructure designs across a range of residential, commercial and mixed-use schemes
Prepare drainage strategies, flood risk inputs and infrastructure layouts for planning and detailed design stages
Produce and review Civil 3D and infrastructure design packages
Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, planning consultants and external stakeholders
Liaise with local authorities and statutory bodies regarding technical approvals
Support projects from feasibility through planning and construction stages
Contribute technical expertise across multiple live projects

    Requirements

5–10 years' experience within a civil engineering consultancy environment
Strong background in development infrastructure, highways and drainage design
Experience delivering residential and commercial development projects
Proficient in Civil 3D and drainage design software
Good understanding of planning, technical approvals and infrastructure delivery
    Strong communication and coordination skills

    The Opportunity

Join a respected consultancy with a strong reputation in the London market
Work on architecturally ambitious and technically challenging developments
Collaborative environment alongside experienced civil and structural engineers
Broad project exposure across multiple sectors
Clear progression opportunities without requiring line management responsibilities
    Competitive salary and benefits package

This role would suit an engineer who enjoys the technical side of civil engineering and is looking to work on high-quality projects within a supportive and design-focused consultancy environment
    Salary description

    £40000.00 - £55000.00 per year
