How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Senior CAD Technician – Civil Engineering (4+ Years' Experience) - London

An established and growing engineering consultancy is seeking a Senior CAD Technician to join its London office and support the delivery of a diverse portfolio of development infrastructure projects across the UK.
The business works closely with housebuilders, developers, architects and multidisciplinary design teams, delivering highways, drainage, earthworks and infrastructure design solutions from initial feasibility through planning and detailed design stages. With a strong pipeline of residential, commercial, education and mixed-use developments, they are looking to strengthen their technical capability within the civil engineering team.

This role would suit an experienced CAD Technician looking to take ownership of drawing production across multiple projects whilst working closely alongside Civil Engineers and senior stakeholders.

    Key Responsibilities

Production and coordination of detailed civil engineering drawing packages using AutoCAD and Civil 3D
Preparation of highways, drainage, earthworks and development infrastructure drawings
Development of levels strategies, cut and fill assessments, site grading plans and earthworks models
Production of drainage layouts, drainage details and technical approval drawings
Support the design and delivery of Section 278 and development infrastructure schemes
Coordinate drawing information with architects, planners, utilities consultants and external stakeholders
Assist engineers through planning, detailed design and construction stages
Maintain drawing standards and contribute to continuous improvement of CAD processes

    Requirements

4+ years' experience within a civil engineering, development infrastructure or highways consultancy environment
Strong AutoCAD experience with Civil 3D preferred
Experience producing highways, drainage and earthworks drawings
Understanding of residential and commercial development projects
Knowledge of levels design, site grading and development infrastructure schemes
Strong communication skills and ability to work within multidisciplinary project teams
Ability to manage workload across multiple live projects simultaneously

    The Opportunity

Join a respected consultancy with a strong and growing project pipeline
Work on a wide variety of residential, commercial and mixed-use developments
Gain exposure to highways, drainage, earthworks and infrastructure design projects
Work closely with experienced Civil Engineers and senior decision-makers
Clear progression opportunities within a growing technical team
    Competitive salary and benefits package

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced CAD Technician seeking greater project exposure, long-term progression and the chance to contribute to the successful delivery of high-quality civil engineering projects across the UK
