How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Are you an Electrical Engineer, with a background in heavy plant, looking to relocate to the picturesque Scottish Highlands, in a role that offers an excellent benefits package on top of a lucrative salary?

    Would you like the opportunity to work with a specialist manufacturer that is one of Britain's longest standing smelters, situated at the foot of Ben Nevis? With a heritage spanning almost a century, the company produces high-quality, low-carbon aluminium using renewable hydroelectric power generated locally.

    The key part of this role will be providing technical leadership for electrical systems across the smelter. Alongside this you will be providing support for electrical safety, reliability and asset improvement initiatives, while leading electrically biased projects from concept through to commissioning.

    This role would suit an experienced Electrical Engineer, with a background in an industrial manufacturing environment, who has a love for the outdoors. *Fantastic Relocation Package*

    The Role

    Technical authority for site electrical systems and infrastructure
    Lead electrical reliability, maintenance and asset improvement projects
    Manage electrical capital projects from design through to commissioning
    Support plant breakdowns, shutdowns and operational improvement activities
    Mentor engineers, technicians and contractors
    Monday to Thursday, 7:30 - 5, Friday, 7:30 - 12:30

    The Person

    Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
    Experience within heavy industry
    Experience delivering electrical projects and supporting maintenance activities
