The Role
As a Project Quantity Surveyor, you will take commercial ownership of affordable housing developments from pre-commencement through to final accounts. This role offers a dynamic split between their collaborative Glasgow office and active construction sites across the Central Belt.
Key Responsibilities
• Commercial Management: Manage all subcontract procurement, variations, valuations, and final accounts.
• Cost Control: Budget preparation, regular forecasting, and regular cost-value reconciliations (CVRs).
• Site Collaboration: Work closely with Site Managers and Project Directors to optimize project delivery and profitability.
• Client Relations: Act as the primary commercial contact for housing associations and local authority clients.
• Subcontractor Management: Assess tracker claims, issue payments, and resolve commercial disputes fairly.
What We Are Looking For
• Experience: Proven track record as a Quantity Surveyor within the UK residential sector (affordable housing or mainstream housebuilding experience is highly advantageous).
• Qualifications: Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related commercial discipline.
• Skills: Strong negotiation skills, sharp attention to detail, and robust knowledge of standard construction contracts (such as JCT or SBCC).
• Mobility: Full UK driving licence to travel to various site locations across Central Scotland.
