How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    English Teacher

    A large secondary school based in Hillingdon are looking for an English Teacher.

    School are looking for someone to start in September on either a long-term contract or permanent basis.

    This position is full time, although part time applicants will also be considered. Working hours are from 8:30am to 3:30pm.

    Salary will match Outer London MPS/UPS.

    School has available parking spaces.

    English Teacher - Hillingdon, London

    * Deliver engaging and challenging English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the opportunity to teach Key Stage 5 for suitable candidates.
    * Inspire students to develop strong literacy, reading, writing and analytical skills through creative and well-structured lessons.
    * Support students of all abilities, helping them achieve academic success and develop confidence in their communication skills.
    * Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and targeted intervention where required.
    * Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where students are encouraged to participate, think critically and achieve their full potential.
    * Work collaboratively with colleagues to contribute to curriculum development and the continued success of the English department.
    * Uphold the values and ethos of the school, promoting high expectations, respect and a commitment to excellence.
