How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

With an annual turnover surpassing £600 million, Mott Macdonald Bentley cements its position as a leader within the industry. The sustained, robust business performance creates an ideal environment for career growth.

The £200m design-and-build framework will see us deliver projects across the region through to 2030 - with the potential for a five-year extension into AMP9.

Wessex Water serves Dorset, Somerset and Bristol, as well as most of Wiltshire, and parts of Gloucestershire and Hampshire. Stretching across diverse landscape like the famous Jurassic Coast, the Mendip Hills, white cliffs of Dorset and Wiltshire’s Salisbury Plain, as well as the cities of Bath and Bristol, the company provides high-quality water services to 1.4 million customers and sewage services to 2.9 million customers.

We are seeking an experienced Planner to support delivery of a flagship £200m+ wastewater infrastructure programme within a long-term Tier 1 capital delivery framework in the water sector. The role will primarily work on a major Wastewater Treatment Works (WwTW) upgrade programme at Poole while also providing support across the wider framework portfolio as required.

The role of a Construction Programme Planner includes:

Develop detailed construction programmes using planning software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project)
Monitor progress against baseline schedules and update regularly.
Identifyrisks, delays, and opportunities, proposing mitigation strategies.
Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to align schedules with site activities.
Produce progress reports, dashboards, and forecasts for senior management and clients.
Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and project milestones.
Support tender planning and bid submissions with realistic programme schedules.
Maintain accurate records of programme changes and justifications.
    What you’ll need:

Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related discipline (preferred).
Experience in large-scale projects within the water sector
Proven experience in programme planning within construction or infrastructure projects.
Familiarity with NEC, JCT, or other standard forms of contract.
Professional membership (e.g., APM, CIOB, ICE) is advantageous.
Competency in the use of Primavera P6 and an interest in 4D planning
Strong knowledge of construction sequencing, methodologies, and industry standards.
Proficiency in planning software (Primavera P6, MS Project, or equivalent).
A valid driving licence and willingness to travel to sites across your operational region
    What’s in it for you:
Alongside our significant training and development investment, bespoke progression plan and support to achieve professional chartership, we offer a wide range of financial, lifestyle, health and wellbeing benefits that you can tailor to your needs.
