How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Are you an Engineer who enjoys working with people as much as solving technical problems? Perhaps you've recently graduated, completed an apprenticeship, or gained some early industry experience and are now looking to build a career in technical sales. If so, this is an opportunity to join a global engineering business, based in Coventry, that will provide extensive training, support and development to help you become a successful Sales Engineer.

    LOCATION: You will ideally be based in or near Coventry. You will cover the UK, Ireland and Nordic regions. Travel is required, including overnight stays.

    JOB DESCRIPTION: Sales Engineer, Graduate - Industrial Components, Engineering Solutions - Manufacturing & Industrial Markets
     
    As our Sales Engineer, you'll work closely with distribution partners and end users to promote a wide range of industrial engineering products and solutions. Covering the UK, Ireland and Nordic regions, you'll be responsible for developing existing accounts, identifying new opportunities and providing technical support and guidance to customers and distributors. This is a consultative sales role where your engineering knowledge will be just as important as your ability to build relationships. You'll receive extensive training and support from experienced Sales Engineers, giving you the tools and knowledge needed to develop into a trusted technical advisor.

    Day to day you will:
    · Build relationships with distributors and end users to promote engineering products and solutions
    · Support distribution partners with product training, technical guidance and customer support
    · Manage a portfolio of existing accounts whilst identifying and developing new business opportunities
    · Arrange and attend customer meetings across your territory, managing your own diary and travel schedule
    · Use CRM systems to manage pipeline activity, customer engagement and sales performance
    · Work towards sales targets and KPIs, demonstrating clear pipeline development and opportunity management
    · Collaborate with experienced Sales Engineers to develop technical and commercial expertise
    · Identify application opportunities across a wide range of industrial sectors and markets
     
    PERSON SPECIFICATION: Sales Engineer, Graduate - Industrial Components, Engineering Solutions - Manufacturing & Industrial Markets

    We're looking for someone with strong engineering fundamentals and the ambition to build a long-term career in technical sales. You don't need years of commercial experience; what's most important is your curiosity, willingness to learn and ability to communicate confidently with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. You'll enjoy building relationships, solving problems and taking ownership of your development within a supportive but autonomous environment.

    Ideally, you will:
    · Hold a qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or a related discipline (typically HNC/HND level or above)
    · Be able to read and understand engineering drawings and technical documentation
    · Have a strong technical foundation gained through education, apprenticeship or early career experience
    · Demonstrate a genuine interest in developing a career within technical sales
    · Be confident communicating with customers and building professional relationships
    · Be self-motivated, organised and comfortable managing your own workload and schedule
    · Have a proactive attitude and willingness to learn new products, applications and markets
    · Be willing to travel throughout the UK, Ireland and Nordic regions, including overnight stays when required
