How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant

    Barnet, London | £90–£100 per day | Full-Time | Temporary | Start ASAP (June 2026)

A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Barnet is seeking a confident and caring SEN Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team as soon as possible.

This full-time, temporary role will run from 1st June to 19th July, with the possibility of continuing into September for the right candidate. The school is a friendly and values-led setting with a supportive leadership team and a strong community feel.

    About the Role

You will be supporting pupils in Year 2, including children with additional needs such as ASD and anxiety. The role will include some 1:1 support, but staff rotate across a small group of children with needs, so you will not be restricted to working with just one pupil.

The ideal candidate will be patient, resilient and proactive, with the confidence to support pupils who may at times be defiant or cheeky, while maintaining a calm and positive approach.

All Teaching Assistants at the school also support interventions, so you will play an active role in helping pupils build confidence, close learning gaps and make progress.

    Key Responsibilities
    • Supporting pupils in Year 2 with additional needs
    • Providing 1:1 and small-group support where required
    • Helping pupils with ASD, anxiety and emotional regulation
    • Delivering or supporting planned interventions
    • Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement in learning
    • Working closely with the class teacher and wider support team
    • Building trusting relationships with pupils and staff

    The Ideal Candidate
    • Experience working with children in a primary school setting
    • SEN experience, particularly with ASD and/or anxiety, is desirable
    • Calm, patient and resilient approach
    • Confident supporting behaviour in a positive and consistent way
    • Able to build rapport with children quickly
    • Flexible, proactive and happy to work across different pupils
    • Strong communication and teamwork skills

    Why Apply?
    • Supportive team and approachable leadership
    • Full-time role with an immediate June start
    • Opportunity to make a meaningful difference in Year 2
    • Varied role across SEN support and interventions
    • Possibility of continuing into September
    • Great opportunity for experienced TAs or aspiring teachers
