How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Lecturer in Instrumentation & Controls

    Location: North East

    Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 per annum

    Annual Leave: 45 days per annum plus bank holidays

    Contractual Hours: 37 hours per week

    Basis: Full Time, Permanent

    We are looking for an innovative and dedicated Lecturer in Instrumentation and Control to join a thriving Engineering department in the North East. This role offers the opportunity to deliver high-quality teaching, support curriculum development, and help shape the next generation of engineers within the fields of instrumentation, control systems, and automation.

    The successful candidate will combine strong academic knowledge with relevant industry experience to inspire learners and contribute to a culture of excellence in teaching and learning.

    What You'll Be Doing

    As a Lecturer in Instrumentation and Control, you will:

    Deliver and manage high-quality, inclusive teaching, learning, and assessment in Instrumentation and Control Systems within the Engineering sector.
    Provide both practical and theoretical instruction in specialist areas relating to instrumentation and control systems.
    Support students in both their academic and personal development, helping them achieve their full potential.
    Develop engaging lesson plans that connect classroom learning with real-world engineering applications.
    Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance the learner experience and support a diverse range of student needs.
    Contribute to student recruitment, retention, achievement, and progression through effective guidance and support.

    What We're Looking For

    We are seeking candidates who:

    Are a qualified Teacher or are willing to work towards achieving a teaching qualification.
    Hold a minimum Level 5 qualification in Instrumentation Engineering.
    Have GCSEs at Grade C / Level 4 or above in English and Maths, or equivalent qualifications.
    Possess relevant industrial experience within Instrumentation Engineering - Essential.Important Notice
