How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Are you a junior engineer, school leaver, or apprentice looking to build a career in design, coordination, and technical engineering environments?

We’re working with a well-established international engineering business specialising in building services, HVAC systems, and technical product design. This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-paced design and project team, where you’ll gain hands-on experience, training, and exposure to real engineering projects.

    What you’ll be doing

As a Junior Design Project Coordinator, you’ll support the full lifecycle of engineering design projects, helping deliver high-quality technical solutions to customers.

    Key responsibilities include:

    * Supporting the end-to-end design process from concept through to completion

    * Assisting with engineering designs, technical drawings, and project quotations

    * Producing and updating specifications (spec breaks) and documentation

    * Working closely with customers and internal teams to translate requirements into practical solutions

    * Ensuring projects meet building regulations, compliance standards, and customer expectations

    * Maintaining accurate project records and documentation (GDPR awareness)

    * Providing technical and product support to stakeholders

    * Supporting senior engineers and project leaders with day-to-day coordination tasks

    What we’re looking for

This role is ideal for someone at the early stages of their engineering career.

    Essential skills

    * Strong interest in engineering, design, or construction / building services

    * Good IT skills including Microsoft Excel and Office tools

    * Excellent communication and teamwork skills

    * High attention to detail and organisation skills

    * Positive, motivated attitude with a willingness to learn and develop

    * Ability to work to deadlines in a fast-paced environment

    Desirable (but not essential)

    * Exposure to CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, or similar)

    * Interest or experience in HVAC systems / mechanical engineering / building services

    * Awareness of technical standards (e.g., NHBC or construction regulations)

    * Familiarity with CRM systems (e.g., Dynamics 365)

    * Additional European language skills (a bonus in international environments)

    Qualifications

    * NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) / GCSEs (A–C / 9–4)*

    * Or currently studying / interested in an engineering apprenticeship

    * No extensive experience required – full training provided

    Why this role?

    * Perfect entry point for junior engineers / apprentices

    * Opportunity to develop CAD, design, and project coordination skills

    * Exposure to real engineering projects and international teams

    * Structured learning within a supportive technical environment

    * Clear pathway for progression in engineering design or project management
