How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    The Hyde Group is offering an exciting opportunity for a Digital Applications Assistant based at our divisional head office in Dukinfield. This role is ideal for a graduate or early-career candidate who wants to gain hands-on experience in digital transformation, systems implementation, and Industry 4.0 technologies within a high-tech engineering environment.

    Main Duties

    Digital Systems & Projects

    *

    Support implementation of new digital systems across the business.

    *

    Assist in developing and testing system solutions from concept to deployment.

    *

    Work with IT and engineering teams to deliver secure and scalable solutions.

    *

    Contribute to ERP and manufacturing system improvements.

    Data, Reporting & Automation

    *

    Develop dashboards and reports (e.g. Power BI).

    *

    Analyse data to support operational and management decisions.

    *

    Help automate manual processes using digital tools and AI concepts.

    *

    Support data integrity, migration, and system performance improvements.

    Process Improvement (Industry 4.0)

    *

    Work on initiatives to improve productivity and reduce costs.

    *

    Support proof-of-concept work through to full business deployment.

    *

    Collaborate with Continuous Improvement teams to implement change.

    Training & Support

    *

    Create clear documentation and user guides.

    *

    Support training of system users across the business.

    *

    Provide first-line support for digital tools and systems.

    Essential Skills

    *

    Strong communication and teamwork.

    *

    Good organisational skills and ability to manage workload.

    *

    Data analysis and problem-solving mindset.

    *

    Ability to produce clear, well-written documentation.

    *

    Experience with Microsoft 365 tools (Excel, Teams, SharePoint).

    *

    Exposure to reporting tools such as Power BI.

    Desired Skills

    *

    Understanding of ERP or manufacturing systems.

    *

    Awareness of process improvement or continuous improvement methods.

    *

    Basic knowledge of automation, scripting, or data tools.

    *

    Interest in digital manufacturing and Industry 4.0.

    *

    Awareness of cybersecurity best practices (e.g. Cyber Essentials).

    Ideal Candidate Profile (Graduate Pathway)

    This role would suit someone who:

    Has a degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, Data or similar.

    Has completed placements, internships, or relevant projects.

    Is interested in how digital systems support manufacturing operations.

    Enjoys problem-solving and working with both technical and non-technical teams.

    Career Development & Progression

    Systems Analyst or Digital Transformation roles.

    ERP / business systems (e.g. IFS) specialist positions.
