How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Looking to develop your career as a Flood Modeller within a technically strong, growing civil and environmental team? This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established consultancy delivering high-quality flood risk and drainage solutions for residential, commercial and infrastructure projects across the UK, with clear progression and structured support toward chartership.

As a Flood Modeller, you will take a leading role in the preparation of Flood Risk Assessments, hydraulic modelling and mitigation design, working closely with planners, civil engineers and external stakeholders to deliver robust, buildable and policy-compliant solutions.

    * Deliver Flood Risk Assessments and hydraulic modelling using Flood Modeller Pro, TUFLOW and HEC-RAS
    * Undertake hydrological analysis using FEH methods, WINFAP and ReFH
    * Prepare drainage strategies, SuDS layouts and planning support information
    * Liaise with Lead Local Flood Authorities, Environment Agency and statutory consultees
    * Support pre-purchase feasibility and discharge of planning conditions
    * Use GIS and CAD tools to support modelling and reporting
    * Manage your own projects to programme and budget
    * Contribute to technical quality, reporting and client communication

    About You
    * Experience in flood risk, hydrology or drainage modelling within a UK consultancy
    * Confident with FEH, hydraulic modelling software and FRA delivery
    * Strong written and verbal communication skills
    * Organised, proactive and keen to take technical ownership
    * Working toward chartership with CIWEM, ICE or similar

    Eligibility to Apply
