The Education Administrator at HMP & YOI Bronzefield plays a key role in supporting the smooth delivery of education, qualifications, and prisoner progression within the establishment. Working closely with the Education Manager and wider prison departments, the postholder ensures accurate recording of learner data, allocation to purposeful activity, and effective administration of all learning and skills processes. The role is central to maintaining high standards of data accuracy, reporting, and operational efficiency within the Education and Skills function.
HMP Bronzefield is a closed local prison and the largest female prison in the UK and Europe. The prison delivers high-quality, needs-led services that support women to make positive and lasting changes. It supports a diverse population, including mothers with babies, young offenders, women serving a range of sentence lengths, foreign nationals, and those on remand. The site includes residential units, healthcare facilities, workshops, education areas, a gym, library, visits hall, chaplaincy, and kitchen.

Main Responsibilities
Accurately input and maintain qualification, attendance, and learner data on prison and national systems, including Curious and other databases
Allocate prisoners to education and work placements, ensuring effective use of available programmes and resources
Produce weekly and monthly performance reports for senior leadership, including management information
Liaise with awarding bodies, internal departments, and external partners to ensure compliance and smooth delivery of qualifications
Monitor prisoner progression, employment rates, and purposeful activity to ensure KPIs and targets are met
Provide general administrative support to the Education and Skills department, including record keeping, minute taking, and cover during staff absences
The Ideal Candidate
Previous experience in an administrative role within a fast-paced or regulated environment
Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate records and data systems
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload and meet strict deadlines
Confident user of Microsoft Word and Excel, with strong general IT skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage a range of stakeholders
Ability to work well under pressure, with an understanding of confidentiality and secure environments (desirable)
