Looking for a full-time Food & Nutrition teaching role within a supportive secondary school environment?
Smile Education is working with a welcoming secondary school seeking a dedicated Food & Nutrition Teacher to cover maternity leave from September 2026 until March 2027. The successful candidate will teach Food & Nutrition across KS3 and KS4, including GCSE Food Preparation & Nutrition.
This role would suit an experienced teacher, ECT, or a passionate Food specialist looking to join a supportive department within a well-established school.
🏫 The Role

Teach Food & Nutrition across KS3–KS4
Deliver engaging practical and theory-based lessons
Prepare students for GCSE Food Preparation & Nutrition examinations
Maintain high standards of behaviour, safety, and classroom management within practical lessons
Support student progress, engagement, and achievement
Work collaboratively with the wider Technology department✅ What We’re Looking For

QTS / QTLS or equivalent teaching qualification
Experience teaching Food & Nutrition at KS3 and KS4
GCSE Food Preparation & Nutrition teaching experience essential
Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
Confident managing practical classroom environments safely and effectively
