How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Director of Fundraising and Partnerships
Home-based (with frequent travel to internal and external events, networking and other meetings in London and occasionally across the UK, as well as occasional international travel)

    Who We Are

Habitat for Humanity Great Britain is part of the global Habitat for Humanity network, one of the world’s leading housing charities working to tackle poverty and homelessness through safe, decent housing. We believe that having a safe place to call home is life-changing, creating the foundation for healthier lives, better opportunities, and stronger communities.

    What We’re Working Towards

Our vision is a world where everyone has a safe and decent place to live, and where housing poverty and homelessness no longer exist. As a humanitarian organisation committed to long-term development and poverty alleviation, we work to create lasting change by building not just homes, but hope, resilience, and opportunity.

We are now looking for a Director of Fundraising and Partnerships to join us on a full-time, permanent basis, working 37.5 hours per week.

    What You’ll Be Doing

As our Director of Fundraising & Partnerships, you will lead our fundraising, partnerships and engagement strategy, driving sustainable income growth and building influential relationships.

Working as part of the Senior Leadership Team, you will design and deliver ambitious multi-year fundraising and partnership strategies across trusts and foundations, corporates, philanthropy and other non-institutional income streams.

You will inspire and develop a high-performing team alongside overseeing income performance, forecasting and reporting.

    Additionally, you will:

    - Develop communication and engagement strategies to increase profile and supporter commitment
    - Drive income growth, diversification and partnership pipeline management
    - Lead strategic relationships with corporate partners, donors and funders
    - Support the development of compelling funding proposals and reports
    - Contribute to organisational strategy, governance and transformation activity
    - Represent us at meetings, events and sector forums nationally and internationally

    Who We’re Looking For

To join us as our Director of Fundraising and Partnerships, you will need:

    - Substantial senior-level experience in fundraising, development and partnership leadership
    - A proven track record of designing and delivering ambitious income strategies
    - Significant experience leading and developing high-performing teams
    - Experience and awareness of communication and brand marketing in a relevant context
    - Experience working collaboratively within complex or networked organisational structures
    - Experience working closely with Boards and Trustees
    - Experience of organisational growth, change or transformation
    - Expert knowledge of fundraising best practice, partnership development and donor stewardship
    - Strong financial acumen, including budget ownership, income forecasting and performance management
    - Knowledge of UK charity governance, fundraising regulation and compliance

    What You’ll Receive

    - Salary of £61,800 - £70,000 per annum, depending on experience
    - 25 days’ holiday + Bank Holidays
    - Up to 5% matched pension contributions
    - Employee wellbeing services
    - Flexible working arrangements
    - A sabbatical policy
    - Virtual GP services
    - Two wellbeing days and an annual Habitat Day (extra day of leave)

This is an unmissable opportunity for a senior fundraising leader with a proven track record of delivering ambitious income strategies and developing high-performing teams to join our life-changing organisation.

You’ll have the chance to lead work that directly tackles housing poverty and homelessness by growing the support needed to build safe, decent homes, stronger communities and better futures.

What’s more, this home-based role offers the flexibility to work in a way that supports greater balance, while still keeping you closely connected to colleagues, partners and events across the UK and beyond.

So, if you’re looking for a role where your leadership can drive both growth and meaningful social change, read on and apply today.

Please note, the successful candidate will be subject to a satisfactory reference check and a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.

The closing date for this role is 8th June 2026.

Unfortunately, because of high volumes of applications, we will not be able to contact unsuccessful applicants. If you haven’t heard from us within a month of the application deadline, please assume that your application has not been successful.

Other organisations may call this role Fundraising Director, Director of Income Generation, Director of Philanthropy and Partnerships, Partnerships Director, or Head of Fundraising and Partnerships.
