How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Freelance Site Agent – Civil Engineering / HS2
    Warwickshire
    Freelance / CIS

    We are currently recruiting for an experienced Freelance Site Agent to join a regional civil engineering contractor delivering major infrastructure works on HS2 projects across Warwickshire.

    The company has an excellent reputation within the civils sector and is involved in a range of works including earthworks, drainage, highways, reinforced concrete and associated infrastructure packages.

    This is a long-term freelance opportunity with immediate starts available.

    The Role

    Reporting into the Project Manager, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day management of site operations, ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme and to the required quality standards.

    Key responsibilities will include:

    • Managing day-to-day site activities and subcontractors
    • Coordinating labour, plant and materials on site
    • Ensuring works are delivered in line with programme requirements
    • Overseeing health & safety and ensuring compliance across site
    • Reviewing RAMS, permits and site documentation
    • Liaising with engineers, commercial teams and client representatives
    • Managing site records, progress reporting and quality inspections
    • Supporting delivery across reinforced concrete, earthworks, drainage and infrastructure works

    Requirements

    • Previous experience working as a Site Agent within civil engineering
    • Strong reinforced concrete (RC) experience is essential
    • Experience delivering infrastructure, highways, earthworks or major civils projects
    • HS2 experience would be advantageous
    • SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid certificates required
    • Engineering background preferred
    • Ability to manage subcontractors, programme and quality on live civils sites
    • Strong communication and organisational skills
