How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

About the Client/Child Victoria,19, who I was fortunate enough to meet, is at the heart of her loving family. She loves funny stories, having books read to her (and is very good at helping to turn the pages!), trips to the park, being outside, museums and immersive projects. She has a winning smile and is a very affectionate young lady; she loves nothing more than having a cuddle with mum! Victoria can make her needs and wants known with a few words, including ‘Yes’ and ‘No’, facial expressions, vocalisations and gestures. At school, she is learning to use alternative communication methods, including auditory scanning and AAC systems. Victoria has quadriplegic cerebral palsy, epilepsy (mostly controlled with medication), a visual impairment and learning disability. Victoria is a full-time wheelchair user and requires full support with daily living, including personal care, feeding, medication, and exercises. Her home is fully adapted to meet her needs, including hoists. Victoria enjoys her food, which will be blended/mashed.
The Role at a Glance This is a 7 days on / 7 days off role, offering a consistent rota and the opportunity to become a key part of Victoria’s support team. During term time, Victoria is picked up at 8:00am, so she will need support to be dressed and ready for breakfast by 7:00am. She returns from school just before 4:00pm and thrives on a structured, predictable routine. Her after-school time is carefully planned and requires calm, organised support to help her engage in activities that are tailored to her needs. Victoria eats orally, and mealtimes can take time, so patience, encouragement, and creativity are essential. In the evening, Victoria has a shower (her hair is washed twice a week), followed by a calm bedtime routine starting at 7:00pm and concluding with her favourite bedtime stories. Night shifts are on-call with a monitor in place. Once settled Victoria usually sleeps through the night. Weekends and school holidays are more relaxed, with later starts and a more flexible routine to enjoy various activities and trips. The family frequently travel internationally and you will join them typically working 2-weeks on, then 2-weeks off.
This Job Would Suit A highly experienced *female SEN Nanny / PA who has excellent experience supporting a young adult with physical and learning disability. You’ll have extensive experience with manual handling/hoists and providing personal care. You’ll be patient, empathetic, kind, and energetic. Victoria responds best to people who are warm, naturally smiley and can be both animated (when reading books or telling stories) and calm, as needed. You will be confident working within a fully staffed household and collaborating closely with Victoria’s mum to provide consistent, high-quality support. The role also involves frequent international travel, so flexibility and a love of travel are important.
Why You’ll Love This Role This is an incredible opportunity for the right candidate. Extensive training and ongoing support are provided; You’ll work in a supportive environment where your creativity and care are valued. And Victoria of course, what a privilege it will be to support this sweet, wonderful young lady.
