Join us as a Senior Project Engineer in Thames Water’s dynamic Capital Delivery team and play a key role in delivering high‑quality project design, safe and efficient delivery, and outstanding customer outcomes. Working alongside a Principal Engineer, you’ll help uphold the standards that keep our major infrastructure projects running smoothly — and your contribution will make a meaningful impact across the business.
What you’ll be doing as a Senior Project Engineer
Lead design engineering for Water Network Projects in line with project delivery procedures
Take a lead role in planning and delivering design activities
Work collaboratively with the team to meet time and cost targets
Act as the key contact for the CDM Designer or Principal Designer responsibilities
Apply strong risk management skills — identifying, mitigating, and controlling risks, and adding value during outline design
Provide technical assurance during the delivery, commissioning, and handover of assets
Manage multiple projects and oversee work delivered by external consultantsThis is a hybrid role based in Maple Lodge, with 2–3 days a week on site within London and the Thames Valley36 hours per week, Monday–Friday.
What you should bring to the role
Degree‑level education (or equivalent) in Civil or Mechanical engineering discipline, plus professional chartership
Strong experience in water network design and technical assurance
A commitment to continuous improvement and innovation
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with stakeholders
Experience managing project teams and taking accountability for delivery
Confidence using company IT systems and Office softwareWhat’s in it for you?

Competitive salary from £55,000 to £68,000 per annum depending on skills and experience
Annual Leave -26 days holiday per year, increasing to 30 with the length of service. (plus bank holidays)
