How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    This is an outstanding opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor who wants more than just another job. My client is known for delivering high-quality projects, investing in their people and creating genuine long-term career opportunities within the business.

    They’re looking for someone commercially sharp, proactive and driven who wants to play a key role in the successful delivery of construction projects while developing their career within a supportive and forward-thinking environment.

    The Role

    As Quantity Surveyor, you’ll be heavily involved in the financial and contractual management of projects from pre-construction through to final account.

    Key responsibilities will include:

    * Managing the commercial performance of construction projects

    * Producing monthly Cost/Value Reconciliations

    * Ensuring valuations are maximised and payments received on time

    * Monitoring site progress and issuing contractual notices where required

    * Preparing and managing cost and value forecasts

    * Managing subcontractor accounts and commercial relationships

    * Negotiating and agreeing variations throughout projects

    * Assisting with tendering and estimating activities

    * Procuring competitive quotations and ensuring specification compliance

    * Working closely with operational teams, clients and consultants

    * Supporting project delivery to ensure programmes and budgets are achieved

    * Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety and quality procedures

    What My Client Is Looking For

    * Degree qualified or equivalent industry experience

    * Previous experience in a Quantity Surveying position within construction

    * Strong commercial awareness and negotiation ability

    * Excellent communication and relationship-building skills

    * Strong analytical and organisational capabilities

    * Ability to manage workload effectively in a fast-paced environment

    * Good IT skills including Excel, Word, Outlook and Teams

    * Full UK driving licence

    What’s On Offer

    * Salary between £40,000 – £55,000 depending on experience

    * Excellent overall package

    * Strong pipeline of exciting projects

    * Genuine career progression opportunities

    * Supportive and collaborative working culture

    * Opportunity to join a business with an excellent industry reputation

    This is a fantastic opportunity for either an established Quantity Surveyor looking for their next challenge or an ambitious Assistant QS ready to step up into a larger role.
