How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job Title Commissioning Maintenance Engineer

    Summary We’re looking for an experienced Commissioning Maintenance Engineer to support an ongoing Energy-from-Waste (EfW) project London. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled professional to contribute to the successful commissioning and maintenance of a major energy recovery facility. If you have experience in mechanical maintenance, commissioning, or industrial plant operations, this role offers an immediate start on a large-scale project.
    Location and Working Pattern South East London – site-based role.
    Client Overview Our client is delivering a large-scale Energy-from-Waste project, providing a critical contribution to sustainable energy generation.

    Responsibilities
    Carry out commissioning and maintenance on mechanical plant systems, including filter cleaning, pump disassembly, inspections, and consumable replenishment.
    Plan and complete scheduled maintenance following O&M manuals, manufacturer guidelines, and site procedures.
    Diagnose and resolve faults on plant and rotating equipment in collaboration with commissioning, engineering, and operations teams.
    Update and maintain accurate records in plant management systems such as PAMELA and CMMS.
    Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient delivery of tasks within a live EfW environment.Must-have Requirements
    Previous experience in mechanical maintenance, commissioning, or industrial plant operations within sectors such as Energy-from-Waste, power generation, or biomass.
    Strong knowledge of mechanical plant systems, pumps, filters, and rotating equipment, including fault-finding and maintenance expertise.
    Solid understanding of Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality (HSEQ) standards and compliance requirements.
    Valid site safety certification (e.g., SCC, SafePass, CSCS, CCNSG, or equivalent).
    Effective communication skills, with flexibility and ability to work shifts and travel when required.Nice-to-have Skills
    Familiarity with plant management systems such as PAMELA or CMMS.
    Experience in large-scale project environments involving commissioning and operational readiness activities.
