How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Senior Support Worker – 16+ Supported Accommodation.

Are you an experienced children’s care professional ready to step up and lead with purpose?

Panacea Children’s Home is looking for a passionate, reliable and confident Senior Support Worker to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to make a real difference in the lives of children and young people while developing their leadership career in residential childcare.

We are not just filling a role. We are looking for someone who can help create a safe, nurturing and positive home where young people feel valued, supported and encouraged to achieve their potential.

    About the Role

As a Senior Support Worker, you will play a key role in the day-to-day running of the home. You will support the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager, lead shifts, guide staff, and help ensure that high standards of care are maintained at all times.

You will be someone who leads by example, remains calm under pressure, and genuinely cares about improving outcomes for children and young people.

    Key Responsibilities

    Your duties will include:

    * Leading shifts and supporting the staff team on duty

    * Providing guidance, supervision and support to residential support workers

    * Creating a safe, warm and structured environment for young people

    * Supporting care plans, risk assessments and behaviour support plans

    * Promoting positive routines, boundaries and relationships

    * Completing daily records, reports, handovers and incident documentation to a high standard

    * Supporting young people with education, independence, emotional wellbeing and daily living skills

    * Helping ensure the home meets safeguarding, Ofsted and internal quality standards

    * Working closely with managers, professionals, families and external agencies

    * Acting as a positive role model for both staff and young people

    What We Are Looking For

We are looking for someone who is:

    * Caring, patient and resilient

    * Confident leading a shift and supporting a team

    * Professional, organised and able to communicate clearly

    * Passionate about child-centred care

    * Able to build positive relationships with young people

    * Reliable and flexible with shifts

    * Committed to safeguarding and promoting welfare

    * Able to remain calm and solution-focused during challenging situations

    Essential Requirements

    Applicants should have:

    * Experience working in a children’s residential care setting

    * A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection

    * Strong communication and leadership skills

    * Ability to work shifts, weekends and sleep-ins where required

    * Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare, or willingness to work towards it

Previous experience as a Senior Residential Support Worker, Team Leader, or similar role would be an advantage
