How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

WF Tech are recruiting on behalf of a growing and well-established subcontract precision engineering company based in Camberley.
Our client produces high-quality machined components for a range of demanding industries and has built a strong reputation for precision, reliability and customer service. Due to continued growth and increased workload, they are looking to strengthen their turning section with an experienced CNC Turner / Programmer.

    The Role
This is a hands-on position within a busy subcontract environment. You will be responsible for programming, setting and operating CNC lathes running Fanuc controls, producing small-to-medium batch components to tight tolerances.
Candidates must have strong experience in either Fixed Head OR Sliding Head turning. Experience in both disciplines would be highly advantageous but is not essential.

    Key Responsibilities
⦁ Programming, setting and operating CNC lathes using Fanuc controls
⦁ Working on either Fixed Head or Sliding Head machines (based on your expertise)
⦁ Editing and optimising programs at the machine
⦁ Selecting tooling, offsets and cutting strategies
⦁ Producing first-off components and carrying out in-process inspection
⦁ Working from detailed engineering drawings
⦁ Maintaining tight tolerances and high-quality standards
⦁ Supporting efficient batch production and cycle time improvements

    What We’re Looking For
    Essential
⦁ Proven experience as a CNC Turner / Programmer
⦁ Strong working knowledge of Fanuc controls
⦁ Solid experience in either Fixed Head OR Sliding Head turning
⦁ Ability to program and set independently
⦁ Good understanding of tooling, speeds & feeds
    ⦁ Confident reading engineering drawings
⦁ Competent using micrometers, verniers and gauges
⦁ Experience within a subcontract precision engineering environment
    Desirable
⦁ Experience in both Fixed Head and Sliding Head turning
⦁ Live tooling or multi-axis capability
⦁ Small batch / prototype experience
    ⦁ Lean manufacturing awareness

    What’s On Offer
    ⦁ £17 – £20 per hour depending on experience
    ⦁ Overtime opportunities
    ⦁ Permanent, stable position
⦁ Varied and technically interesting work
    ⦁ Supportive working environment
⦁ Opportunity to broaden machine capability over time

If you are an experienced CNC Turner / Programmer with strong Fanuc knowledge and solid Fixed or Sliding Head experience, WF Tech would like to hear from you. MEDW
