How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Proactive Personnel are seeking a Class 2 Drivers to join our clients team in Nelson, Lancashire ASAP!

    Duties:

    * The post holder shall be required, after training, to drive a wide range of cleansing equipment such as LGV refuse collection Vehicles, mechanical sweepers, loading shovel, gully taker in addition to compact mechanical sweepers and 3.5T pick ups.

    * The post holder shall also be required to use a works issued mobile telephone, digital tacograph equipment and any in cab communication systems introduced in the future as part of our clients bid to improve service delivery.

    * To provide efficient and effective refuse/recycling collection service in the removal of household waste including bulky goods, industrial and commercial refuse, co-mingled waste and garden waste from a variety of locations e.g. domestic, shops, schools farms etc...

    * To monitor on a day-to-day basis your progress and to be responsible for reporting any problems or reasons for shortfalls back to the supervisory staff.

    * To ensure work is completed in accordance within the time, quality and standard.

    Hours are Monday - Thursday 07:30 - 15:30 and Friday 07:30 - 15:00.

    Pay is £15.10 per hour paid weekly.

    Please be aware this is a temporary position, we cannot guarantee a permanent contract.

    Requirements:

    * Valid Class 2 Driving License.

    * Ability to deal with customers and members of the public in a respectful/appropriate manner.

    * Possession and ability to use digital tacograph.

    * To have undertaken 35 hours training obtaining certificate of professional competence certification.

    Interviews and inductions will be taking place at the Proactive Personnel Blackburn office immediately. If successful you will have an Induction with our client at their depot. Once you have received a start date we will issue out full PPE.

    Please be aware full Drug & Alcohol tests will take place before you start.
