How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Engineering Manager
    Days - Monday - Friday
    £50,000 + Company Benefits
    Location: Sturminster Newton

    Are you an Engineering Manager looking to join a leading manufacturing company where you can take full ownership of site engineering operations, drive plant performance, and play a key role in improving efficiency and output?

    On offer is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established and growing manufacturer where you will lead the engineering function, oversee maintenance operations, and help deliver continuous improvement across the site.

    The company is highly regarded within the manufacturing industry and continues to invest heavily in both its facilities and engineering capabilities. Due to continued growth and expansion, they are looking to strengthen their leadership team with the addition of an Engineering Manager.

    Within this role, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day engineering operations across the site, leading the maintenance team, improving preventative maintenance strategies, and supporting production to minimise downtime and maximise plant utilisation.

    This is a fantastic opportunity for an Engineering Manager to join a successful manufacturer, take ownership of engineering performance, and play a key role in driving operational excellence across the site.

    The Role:
    *Oversee maintenance of all electrical and mechanical equipment across the site
    *Lead and develop the maintenance team to ensure high standards and compliance
    *Manage preventative and reactive maintenance schedules
    *Support production teams to minimise downtime and improve machine performance
    *Drive root cause analysis and implement long-term engineering solutions
    *Manage spare parts inventory and ensure critical equipment availability
    *Ensure compliance with health & safety
    *Monday - Friday - 8AM - 4:30PM

    The Person:
    *Engineering Management or Maintenance Management background
    *Experience within manufacturing, FMCG, food, Military or industrial environments (Or similar)
    *Strong electrical and mechanical maintenance knowledge
    *Experience leading engineering or maintenance teams
    *Continuous improvement and problem-solving mindset
    *Live commutable to Sturminster Newton
    *Ex Forces Highly Forces Considered
