How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Business Development Manager 
    Sittingbourne
    £27,000 - £30,000 + Package
     
    Hill McGlynn is currently working in partnership with a growing residential developer to recruit a confident and motivated Business Development Manager to join their team based out of their Sittingbourne office.
    This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious sales-focused individual looking to build a long-term career within the construction and residential development sector.
     
    The Role
    As Business Development Manager, you will play a key role in generating new business opportunities, building relationships with potential clients and industry contacts, and supporting the company's continued growth.
     
    The role will involve proactive outbound sales activity, including cold calling prospective clients and developing new leads within the construction and residential development market.
     
    Key Responsibilities

    Conducting cold calls and outbound sales activity to generate new business opportunities
    Building and maintaining strong relationships with prospective clients and industry contacts
    Identifying and developing sales leads within the construction sector
    Supporting the senior management team with business growth strategies
    Attending meetings and networking opportunities where required
    Maintaining accurate records of sales activity and client communications
    Working closely with internal teams to support business objectives Requirements

    MUST be confident, proactive, and comfortable with cold calling and sales activity
    Previous experience within a sales or business development role
    Some basic knowledge or understanding of the construction industry is essential
    Strong communication and interpersonal skills
    Self-motivated with a target-driven attitude
    Good organisational and IT skills
    Full UK driving licence preferred What's on Offer
