How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Your new company

    Hays Education is delighted to be working with a well‑established 2‑form entry primary school in Coventry that is seeking a committed Year 6 teacher to join their team for the duration of the new academic year. The school is known for its strong community ethos, supportive leadership and focus on ensuring every child is well‑prepared for the transition to secondary school.     Your new role

    You will take full teaching responsibility for a Year 6 class, delivering high‑quality lessons that support pupils' academic progress, particularly in preparation for end‑of‑Key‑Stage assessments, as well as their personal development. Working closely with the parallel Year 6 teacher and wider Key Stage 2 team, you will plan, assess and create a structured, motivating learning environment where pupils feel confident and supported. The school is seeking a teacher who can bring stability, clear communication and a calm, purposeful approach to the classroom throughout the year.

    What you'll need to succeed

    Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
    Recent experience in Key Stage 2, ideally with Year 6 or upper‑KS2
    Strong behaviour management and a warm, encouraging approach
    Excellent organisational skills and the ability to deliver consistent, high‑quality teaching
    A commitment to fostering a positive, secure and engaging learning environment
    Flexibility to work within the school's routines, expectations and values
