How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Lecturer in English - RC (1 x Part Time Role)
    Hours: Part time (18.5 hours each week, all year round)
    Duration: Permanent
    Salary: From £29,455 (unqualified) to £33,487 (qualified) per annum plus benefits (Pro-Rata £14,728 to £16,743.50) per annum plus benefits

    In this role you will be delivering on GCSE English Language and Functional Skills English to full time students and adults. You will work in our well-equipped onsite classrooms and online though our virtual learning environment, using Google Classroom.
    The role of lecturer is to equip our students with skills for their future through the delivery of outstanding education and training and inspire students to achieve their potential.     You will…
    * As an English Lecturer you will play an important role in developing creative resources to inspire outstanding learning and will be responsible for the monitoring and tracking of learner progress to promote positive outcomes for learners.
    * You should be an effective and motivated team player, with excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with colleagues and management to achieve strategic and organisational objectives.
    * You will hold at least A Level (or equivalent) qualification in English or above and either have, or be willing to work towards a teaching qualification. Ideally, you will have a degree qualification in a chosen subject.
    * You will be able to bring the subject to life, using combined methods of practical, theoretical and digital which will engage your learners and provide them with the best skills, knowledge and behaviours for the future.

    Department Info
    Your line manager will be the Deputy Manager for English and Maths. You will regularly report on your objectives to update your Maths and English Lead regarding a range of KPI’s including (but not limited to) student recruitment, retention, anticipated achievement, attendance and punctuality.
    You will be part of a Curriculum and Department team and will work with other teaching staff to develop and share good practice in the area. You may also be required to participate in cross college teams or working groups on key projects
