How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job Title: History Teacher

    Location: Hammersmith & Fulham

    Are you an experienced History Teacher looking to join a successful and collaborative Humanities Department?

    Do you set high expectations for your students, demonstrate confident classroom presence, and engage students across all key stages?  

    Are you a history specialist and curriculum expert who can deliver consistently excellent lessons?

    TeacherActive are proud to be working with this high achieving 11-18 secondary school in West London; they are seeking a knowledgeable and confident History Teacher from September. The school are looking for an outstanding teacher with a proven record of results across GCSE and A-level History, as well as someone who effectively engages students at KS3.

    The successful candidate will be a highly effective classroom practitioner who will ensure their lesson planning and delivery are such that students experience history in a way that is engaging, intellectually challenging, and supports critical thinking development. The school promotes a culture of learning for both staff and students, offering coaching, CPD, and pathways for progression.

    To be considered for this role, you will:

    Demonstrate excellent subject knowledge and confident classroom presence
    Be a qualified History Teacher who holds QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) and a degree
    Foster positive relationships with your students, setting and maintaining high expectations of academic progress and behaviour
    Demonstrate high standards of professionalism
    Communicate clearly and confidently, verbally and in writing
