How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

This is an excellent opportunity to support a technically complex engineering and construction project involving mechanical, process engineering, industrial, and infrastructure works within a highly regulated environment.

The successful Engineering Quantity Surveyor will provide commercial oversight across engineering and construction activities, supporting cost control, contract management, valuations, change control, and commercial reporting throughout the lifecycle of the project.
This role would suit a commercially aware Quantity Surveyor with experience within engineering, process engineering, utilities, heavy industry, infrastructure, or industrial construction environments who enjoys working closely with operational and project delivery teams.

Why could this be the role for you?

The successful Engineering Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for:

Managing commercial activities across engineering and construction works
Supporting valuations, forecasting, cost reporting, and change management
Reviewing quotations, variations, compensation events, and commercial risks
Monitoring site progress and validating commercial information
Supporting contract administration under NEC or similar forms of contract
Working closely with operational, engineering, and project delivery teams
Escalating commercial risks and supporting early warning processes where required

The ideal Engineering Quantity Surveyor will have:

Engineering, process engineering, or industrial Quantity Surveying background or similar
Experience within industrial, infrastructure, utilities, engineering, or heavy construction projects
    Strong NEC contract knowledge
Good commercial awareness and stakeholder engagement skills
Ability to work within a live operational or high hazard environment

This role offers a flexible hybrid arrangement, typically involving 1-2 days per week on site in North Yorkshire with the remaining time remote
