How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Trainee Drainage Operatives – Brentford

My client is currently looking to recruit Trainee Drainage Operatives to join their growing team in Brentford. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start a long-term career within the water and drainage industry, with full training and progression provided.

The role is field-based and hands-on, working within two-person teams on drainage and sewer network projects using specialist equipment and technology. No previous drainage experience is required — just a strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and a positive attitude.

    What’s on offer:
    • Permanent position
    • Full-time hours (40 hours per week, Monday–Friday)
    • Opportunities for night shifts and occasional travel
    • Full training and development provided
    • Genuine long-term progression opportunities into senior and team leader positions

    Key Responsibilities:
    • Installing and setting up monitoring equipment within drainage and sewer systems
    • Assisting with site preparation and ensuring work areas are safe and organised
    • Carrying out equipment checks, maintenance, and basic troubleshooting
    • Recording site data and updating digital systems accurately
    • Supporting the delivery of drainage and infrastructure projects
    • Working safely in outdoor environments, confined spaces, and at height where required
    • Maintaining high standards of health & safety on site

    Requirements:
    • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
    • Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
    • Physically fit and comfortable with manual work
    • Good communication and teamwork skills
    • Basic IT, reading, and writing ability
    • Full UK manual driving licence (essential)

This role would suit someone who enjoys practical work, likes working outdoors, and is looking to build a long-term career within a growing industry.
