How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Controls and Automation Engineer

    Controls Engineer / Automation Engineer

    Global Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Controls Engineer to join their Production Engineering team.

    This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in developing and optimising advanced automation solutions within a modern manufacturing environment. You’ll work across control systems, SCADA/HMI platforms, and continuous improvement projects that drive operational performance.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Design, develop, programme, and enhance control systems for both new and existing production equipment

    * Configure and maintain SCADA and HMI systems to improve machine efficiency and reliability

    * Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues while supporting manufacturing operations

    * Collaborate with engineering and production teams across multiple sites on equipment upgrades and process improvement initiatives

    * Contribute to the delivery of automation and smart manufacturing projects

    Candidate Requirements

    * Degree qualified (BEng Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or related discipline)

    * Proven experience with PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems (Mitsubishi experience preferred)

    * Knowledge of VFD/VSD drives, EtherNet/IP, Modbus, and CC-Link protocols

    * Previous experience working within a live manufacturing or production environment

    * Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills

    Desirable:

    * 5+ years’ experience within a Controls Engineering role
