How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Principal People are pleased to be supporting a specialist consultancy with the recruitment of a Construction / Project Manager to support a major engineering and infrastructure project based within a live operational power generation environment in North Yorkshire.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a high-profile engineering project involving complex mechanical, construction, and process engineering works including installation of process equipment, silos, conveyors, M&E systems, and structural steel works within an existing operational facility.

The successful Construction / Project Manager will take ownership of day-to-day site coordination and construction activities, working closely with contractors, engineering teams, operational stakeholders, and client representatives to ensure safe and efficient delivery across the project.

The successful Construction / Project Manager will be responsible for:

Managing day to day construction and engineering activities across site
Coordinating contractors and monitoring progress across multiple workstreams
Supporting safe delivery of mechanical, construction, and engineering activities
Reviewing RAMS, permits, and site activities within a live operational environment
Managing programme coordination, sequencing, and short term planning activities
Working closely with engineering, operational, commercial, and Health and Safety teams
Resolving site issues and maintaining project momentum across the programme

The ideal Construction / Project Manager will have:

    Mechanical Engineering background or similar.
Experience within industrial, engineering, infrastructure, utilities, or heavy construction projects
CSCS, Safety Passport or equivalent site certification
Degree, HNC, or HND within Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline

This is a full time resident role based on site in North Yorkshire, typically 4-5 days per week
