How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    General Manager

    £45k - £50k (depending on experience)

    A long‑established UK business supplying high quality products to trade customers is seeking a proactive General Manager to lead operations and support ongoing growth. The company is known for reliability, strong service standards and a collaborative, down‑to‑earth team culture. This is a key leadership role with real influence over day‑to‑day performance and long term improvement.

    The Role

    Based at the head office, you will oversee the smooth running of all operational areas, including office functions, customer support, logistics, facilities and field‑team coordination. You will lead and develop staff, ensure compliance, streamline processes and work closely with senior leadership to support strategic goals.

    This role suits someone hands‑on, organised and people‑focused, who enjoys improving systems and bringing teams together.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Oversee the daily operations of the internal sales office, ensuring team efficiency and high levels of customer service.

    * Lead and support teams across office, logistics, and field‑based roles

    * Oversee daily operational workflow and ensure high service standards

    * Manage facilities, equipment and basic IT requirements

    * Ensure compliance with health & safety policies and legislation

    * Improve processes, systems and internal communication

    * Support senior leadership with planning, reporting and operational strategy

    * Build strong relationships with suppliers and service providers

    * Assist with customer related operational or logistical issues when needed

    About You

    * Experience in general management, operations or office management

    * Experience in a product‑based or trade‑focused environment

    * Strong leadership and people‑management skills

    * Highly organised with a practical, problem‑solving mindset

    * Confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills

    * Good understanding of health & safety and facilities management

    * Strong IT literacy (Microsoft Office, CRM systems)

    * Understanding of B2B customer service (desirable)

    * IOSH/NEBOSH or similar certification (desirable)

    * Degree‑level education (desirable)
