How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Benjamin Grace are recruiting on behalf of a leading infrastructure organisation for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to support the delivery of major rail frameworks across Scotland and the North of England.

    This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established and growing business delivering long-term framework projects across rail, signalling, telecoms and wider infrastructure environments. The successful Senior Quantity Surveyor will play a key role within the commercial team, supporting the delivery of multiple projects across a secure and expanding portfolio of work.

    The role would suit a commercially focused Senior Quantity Surveyor looking for long-term career progression, project variety and the opportunity to work within a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

    Senior Quantity Surveyor – Key Responsibilities

    *

    Production of CVRs, cost reports, forecasts and commercial reporting

    *

    Management of cash flow and overall commercial performance across framework projects

    *

    Administration of EWNs, compensation events, applications, claims and final accounts

    *

    Subcontract procurement, negotiation and account management

    *

    Support effective contract management and commercial risk mitigation

    *

    Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and internal delivery teams

    *

    Support and mentor junior commercial staff where required

    *

    Work closely with operational teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, commercially and efficiently

    Senior Quantity Surveyor – About You

    *

    Proven experience working as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within rail, infrastructure or civil engineering projects

    *

    Strong understanding of NEC contracts and commercial management processes

    *

    Excellent cost control, reporting and stakeholder management skills

    *

    Experience working across frameworks or long-term infrastructure programmes would be advantageous

    *

    Self-motivated with the ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously

    *

    Strong communication and negotiation skills
