How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job Description

    We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Spanish Teacher to join a thriving secondary school in Coventry for a September start. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality teaching across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the opportunity to teach Key Stage 5 depending on experience.
    The Spanish Teacher will inspire a love of languages and cultures, supporting students to develop confident communication skills and a strong understanding of the Spanish language. The role requires a committed and reflective practitioner who contributes positively to the wider life of the school and to the continued development of the Modern Foreign Languages curriculum.

    Key Responsibilities

    Plan and deliver engaging and effective Spanish lessons in line with the national curriculum.
    Teach listening, speaking, reading and writing skills across a range of abilities.
    Prepare students for internal assessments and external examinations.
    Monitor, assess and track pupil progress and provide clear, constructive feedback.
    Use a variety of teaching approaches to meet the needs of all learners.
    Contribute to the development and review of the Spanish and wider MFL curriculum.
    Create a positive, inclusive and well-managed classroom environment.
    Maintain high expectations for behaviour, effort and achievement.
    Support enrichment activities, trips and cultural opportunities linked to language learning.
    Work collaboratively with colleagues within the MFL department and across the school.
    Take part in staff meetings, training and professional development activities.

    Requirements

    Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
    A relevant degree in Spanish or a related language discipline.
    Experience of teaching Spanish at secondary level.
    Strong subject knowledge and an enthusiasm for languages and international culture.
    The ability to deliver engaging, well-structured and differentiated lessons.
    A commitment to inclusive practice and supporting the progress of all learners.
    Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
    A positive, flexible and professional approach to teaching and learning.
    Experience of teaching GCSE and/or A level Spanish is desirable.
