How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Permanent | Long-Term | Immediate Start

A warm, informal UHNW family based in Solihull is seeking an exceptional, qualified Governess to join their household on a full-time, permanent basis.

This is a rare opportunity for a career educator to step away from the classroom into a highly rewarding role, where you will have genuine influence over a child’s academic confidence, habits, and long-term development.

    The Family

We are a relaxed, down-to-earth household with three children (16, 6, and 2). Both parents are present and actively involved—this is a collaborative, supportive environment, not a sole-charge role.

You will be treated as an educational specialist and a valued member of the household.

    The Role

The primary focus is our 6-year-old daughter, who attends a leading prep school and would benefit from structured, engaging support in phonics, writing, and building focus and confidence at home.

You will work in partnership with her school to reinforce and extend her learning in a calm, encouraging way.

Alongside this, you will support the early development of our 2-year-old son, delivering age-appropriate, play-based learning and creating strong early foundations—resulting in a meaningful long-term role as both children progress.

    Structure (Term Time)

    • Morning / Early Afternoon:
    • Early years development and structured play with the 2-year-old
    • Mid Afternoon:
    • School collection
    • Late Afternoon / Evening:
    • One-to-one academic support with the 6-year-old
    • (reading, writing, phonics, homework, learning habits)
    • Weekends:
    • Approx. 1 day (c. 8 hours) of educational enrichment
    • School Holidays:
    • Full-time daytime involvement with both children, maintaining structure and engagement

    Key Responsibilities

    • Provide tailored academic support aligned with the prep school curriculum
    • Build confidence, focus, and independent learning habits
    • Support phonics and writing development in an engaging, pressure-free way
    • Plan and deliver EYFS-based activities for early development
    • Manage the daily school run
    • Work collaboratively with parents to shape a long-term academic pathway
    • Foster curiosity, consistency, and a genuine enjoyment of learning

    The Ideal Candidate

    • QTS / PGCE (or equivalent) – essential
    • Strong experience across EYFS and KS1
    • Proven track record supporting literacy and writing development
    • Warm, patient, and emotionally intelligent, with a natural ability to build trust
    • Confident supporting children with focus and attention challenges
    • Organised, adaptable, and comfortable in a relaxed family setting
    • Full, clean UK driving licence

    Desirable: Spanish language skills

    Package

    • £50,000 – £70,000+ DOE
    • Long-term, stable full-time position
    • Collaborative, respectful working environment
    • Live-out role with easy parking
    • No sole charge, no night work, no international travel

    Please submit:

    • CV
    • Brief covering note outlining relevant experience and availability
