Our client is seeking an experienced HVAC Engineer to manage the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems for a key site in Darlington. This is a Monday–Friday role, working 40 hours per week, perfect for an engineer who wants to be the primary expert on-site while enjoying the stability of a fixed location.
The Role As an HVAC Engineer, you’ll:
Deliver high-quality Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) on all HVAC systems and associated plant equipment.
Execute reactive maintenance and fault-finding, identifying root causes of system issues and providing long-term solutions.
Service and maintain critical assets, including Air Handling Units (AHUs), Fan Coil Units (FCUs), and ventilation systems.
Diagnose and repair system breakdowns in a timely manner to ensure minimal disruption to site operations.
Perform basic repairs and fine-tune adjustments to ensure optimal system performance and energy efficiency.
Maintain site compliance, ensuring all maintenance work is completed in line with procedures and industry standards.
Keep accurate maintenance logs, updating all service documentation and reporting ongoing issues to site management.
Uphold rigorous Health & Safety standards, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and site occupants. Your Skills To be successful in the role of HVAC Engineer, you’ll bring:
Valid F-Gas certification (Essential).
City & Guilds (or equivalent) qualification in HVAC, Refrigeration, or Mechanical Engineering.
Proven experience in HVAC maintenance, demonstrating strong skills in both PPM and reactive environments.
Expert fault-finding and diagnostic skills, with the ability to work independently on-site.
A professional approach, with the communication skills to liaise effectively with site management.
