How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

You will join a progressive business where this role offers the opportunity to develop into a well-rounded Mechanical Engineer, gaining exposure across the full product development lifecycle within a highly technical and innovative engineering environment.

Based in a state-of-the-art facility, you will join a global leader in advanced technology, working within a collaborative engineering team where you will be encouraged to learn, develop, and bring new ideas forward.

The successful candidate will work on a variety of engineering challenges, supporting both product modification projects and new product introduction (NPI) activities from initial concept and testing through to final production release within a business specialising in precision mechanisms, motion control systems, and advanced product development.

Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, you will contribute to the development of robust and reliable mechanical solutions for demanding applications. The role will involve problem-solving, product testing, DFMA activities, and ensuring designs meet compliance and manufacturing standards.

The ideal candidate will have experience with 3D and 2D CAD software, producing high-quality manufacturing drawings, and designing precision-engineered components with tight tolerances. You will need a Mechanical Engineering qualification or equivalent industry experience, together with a proven track record in product development and successful product release into production.

This role is hybrid, working three days in the office and the remainder from home. There is a clear pathway for progression and the opportunity to challenge yourself within a cutting-edge industry focused on innovation and continuous engineering advancement.

    Requirements:

    - A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant discipline
    - At least 2 years of experience working in a high-tech engineering environment
    - Experience with 3D/2D Modelling software

    £45000.00 - £55000.00 per year
