How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Associate Surveyor - Utilities & Infrastructure

Location: Doncaster | Full‑time (37.5 hrs) | Hybrid working available

We are offering an exciting opportunity to join my client's growing Infrastructure Services division, supporting the delivery of projects that contribute to a more resilient and sustainable UK. The team works across electricity, gas, water, fibre, oil, and renewables, helping clients upgrade, reinforce, and expand essential national infrastructure.

They pride themselves on understanding client requirements, staying ahead of industry developments, and continually investing in their people, systems, and processes to ensure high‑quality service delivery. The role is varied, covering everything from early‑stage routing and feasibility through to construction support and project completion, as well as consultancy work around benchmarking, procedures, and management systems.

My client is currently involved in a range of major energy projects, including upgrades to high‑voltage power networks, new substations, and overhead line infrastructure - all contributing to the UK's low‑carbon transition.

This is a permanent, full‑time role based in Doncaster, though my client is open to discussing flexible or part‑time arrangements (minimum 30 hours). We welcome applicants from a broad range of surveying backgrounds and operate a hybrid working model.

    What my client offers

Alongside a competitive base salary, you'll receive:

    Discretionary bonus scheme

    Car or car allowance

    Private healthcare

25 days holiday rising to 30 with service, plus your birthday off and additional festive leave

Enhanced maternity, paternity, adoption and shared parental leave

    Online savings and benefits portal

Death in Service cover and access to an Employee Assistance Programme

Two days' paid volunteering leave per year (pro rata for part‑time colleagues)

    What you'll be doing

Advising on and managing infrastructure projects from local schemes to nationally significant programmes

Providing land consultancy advice across maintenance, upgrades, and new installations

Supporting clients in their interactions with landowners and stakeholders

Undertaking land referencing, preparing and serving statutory notices, negotiating compensation, and securing rights to facilitate project delivery

Liaising with landowners and responding to public enquiries

Contributing to wider projects across the business

Reporting directly to clients on project progress and risks

Supporting, mentoring, and developing graduates and junior team members

What my client is looking for

    MRICS or AssocRICS (preferred)

    Strong project management capability

    Excellent IT skills

Confident communicator with strong negotiation skills

Ability to self‑manage and meet deadlines

Experience building long‑term client and stakeholder relationships

Strong influencing skills and commercial awareness

Outstanding organisational ability and attention to detail

Clear, professional written and verbal communication

    Why join us?

My client offers a modern, people‑focused working environment with a strong social culture and a flexible approach to work. Their hybrid model gives you the freedom to design your working week - whether that's collaborating in the office, focusing at home, or getting out on site.

Across the business, you'll find a supportive, connected team with opportunities to get involved in CPD days, leadership sessions, social events, sports activities, and team gatherings.

They are proud of their heritage and even prouder of the inclusive, forward‑thinking environment they've built. If you want to be part of a team that works hard, supports each other, and genuinely enjoys what they do, my client would love to hear from you
