How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    We are seeking a caring and motivated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and inclusive Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Telford. This is a full time role starting in May 2026 and continuing until July 2026, with the potential to become a permanent position for the successful candidate.

    This well regarded Pupil Referral Unit in Telford provides a nurturing and structured environment for pupils who require additional behavioural, emotional, and educational support. Staff are committed to helping every young person overcome barriers to learning, build confidence, and achieve positive outcomes both academically and personally. The school places a strong emphasis on personalised support, emotional wellbeing, and creating meaningful relationships with pupils.

    The Role

    As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, helping them engage with learning and develop positive behaviours within a supportive educational setting.

    Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position is previous experience working in a school setting.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Provide one to one and small group support for pupils with special educational and behavioural needs

    * Support teachers in delivering engaging and differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning needs

    * Build positive relationships with pupils to encourage engagement, confidence, and emotional regulation

    * Adapt classroom activities and learning materials to meet the needs of individual pupils

    * Promote a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment

    * Work closely with teaching staff, parents, and external agencies to ensure consistent pupil support

    * Graduates and final year university students from any subject background are encouraged to apply

    * Previous SEN or behaviour support experience is beneficial but not essential, as training will be provided
