How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

A Birmingham-based construction consultancy is looking to appoint a Project Manager to support a growing pipeline of work across the Midlands. This Project Manager role would suit an ambitious, client-facing Project Manager with previous consultancy experience and the confidence to manage construction projects from inception through to completion.

The successful Project Manager will join a professional and supportive team, working closely with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal colleagues. This Project Manager position is ideal for someone who is organised, commercially aware, and keen to develop within a reputable consultancy environment. The Project Manager will be involved in a variety of built environment projects, supporting delivery across both pre- and post-contract stages.

You must have prior construction consultancy experience to be considered for this role.

    The Project Manager's role

The Project Manager will be responsible for assisting with the full project lifecycle, including client briefing, feasibility, procurement, programme management, risk management, stakeholder coordination, contract administration support, and project reporting.

The Project Manager will chair meetings, track actions, coordinate design teams, monitor contractor performance, and ensure projects are delivered in line with agreed time, cost, and quality objectives. The Project Manager will also support senior colleagues with larger schemes while taking ownership of smaller projects where appropriate.

    The Project Manager

The Project Manager will ideally have:

A degree in Construction Project Management, Quantity Surveying, Building Surveying, Construction Management, or a related construction discipline
Previous experience working within a construction consultancy
    Experience delivering built environment projects
Strong communication, organisation, and client-facing skills
Knowledge of JCT contracts and construction procurement routes
A proactive, professional, and team-focused approach
APM, CIOB, RICS, or working towards a relevant professional qualification would be advantageous

    In Return?

    £45,000 - £55,000
    Pension contribution
    Professional development support
APC / chartership support where applicable
Varied project workload across the Midlands
    Supportive consultancy team environment
    Long-term progression opportunities
