How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Are you a compassionate and resilient SEN Teacher looking to make a real difference in the lives of young learners?

Do you have the passion and dedication to support children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs in a nurturing and structured environment?

We at GSL Education Kent are currently recruiting for a committed and enthusiastic SEN Teacher to join a specialist primary provision in Ashford. This rewarding opportunity is ideal for an experienced SEN Teacher or a mainstream teacher looking to transition into a specialist SEMH setting where every day brings the chance to positively impact children’s lives.

This welcoming and supportive specialist setting caters for primary-aged pupils with SEMH needs and associated challenges. The school prides itself on creating a safe, engaging, and therapeutic environment where pupils are encouraged to build confidence, develop emotionally, and achieve academically through personalised support and strong relationships.

    The Role:

As an SEN Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and differentiated lessons tailored to meet the individual needs of pupils with SEMH. You will work closely with support staff, therapists and senior leaders to create a positive learning environment that promotes both academic progress and emotional wellbeing.

    The successful SEN Teacher will:

Plan and deliver creative and engaging lessons for primary-aged pupils
Build positive and trusting relationships with students
Support pupils with SEMH needs, behavioural challenges and additional learning difficulties
Create a structured and nurturing classroom environment
Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and external professionals
Promote emotional regulation, resilience and confidence in pupils
    Requirements:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
Experience working with children with SEN or SEMH needs is highly desirable
Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills
A patient, empathetic and resilient approach
A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable young people
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)
    What We Offer:

    Competitive daily rates
Flexible working with a pathway to a permanent contract
    Supportive and collaborative working environment
    Opportunities for professional development
This role requires a strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection. All successful applicants will be subject to relevant background checks, including an enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one.

This SEN Teacher role is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives in a nurturing environment and is passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning. Whether you are an experienced SEN Teacher or looking to take the next step in your career within SEMH education, we would love to hear from you.
