How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job Title: Computer Studies Teacher

    Location: Doncaster

    Salary: Up to £220 per day (depending on experience)

    Start Date: Immediate

    Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long Term, Full-time / Part-time

    Are you a Computing specialist with the skills and enthusiasm to inspire the next generation of digital thinkers?

    GSL Education are seeking talented and motivated Computer Studies Teachers to work in schools across Doncaster.

    As a Computer Studies Teacher, you will help students develop the technical knowledge, digital fluency, and computational skills they need to thrive in an increasingly technology-driven world. This is a rewarding opportunity for an educator who wants to make computing genuinely exciting and accessible for every learner in their classroom.

    Responsibilities:

    Design and deliver engaging Computer Studies lessons in line with the national curriculum
    Teach across Key Stages 3 and 4, covering areas such as programming, data representation, networks, and online safety
    Build students' computational thinking and logical problem-solving skills progressively throughout the year
    Prepare pupils effectively for GCSE assessments and support their broader digital literacy
    Assess student understanding regularly and provide targeted, constructive feedback
    Tailor teaching methods to meet the needs of learners across the full ability range
    Stay current with developments in technology and bring relevant, real-world context into lessons
    Support departmental planning and contribute positively to the wider school community
    Requirements:

    Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
    A degree in Computer Science, Computing, Information Technology, or a related field
    Experience teaching Computer Studies or Computing at secondary level is desirable
    Strong subject knowledge across programming languages, hardware, software, and digital systems
    The ability to break down complex concepts and make them accessible and engaging
    A proactive, student-focused, and professional approach to the classroom
    An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to complete a new application)
