This Lewisham based school cater for students from 5 to 11 years old with complex needs, including moderate and severe learning disabilities (MLD/SLD). The Lewisham SEN School are looking for a Drama Specialist, you will be working in the Drama room with a range of ages and needs. It is important that you not only have experience working with SEN but also have a basic knowledge and love for Drama/acting.
Key Responsibilities:
Assisting within the Drama classroom
Collaborating with teachers and other staff to provide a safe and nurturing environment for students
Assisting with communication needs and promoting positive behaviour
Supporting students with physical and emotional needsEssential requirements:
Experience supporting young people with special needs, ASC / MLD / SLD
Previous support work, TA or LSA work within a school or other child related experience.
Enthusiastic, positive and friendly approach.
A caring and professional manner, willing to support with the personal care of pupils.
