How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Role: Trainee Engineer
    Location: Falmouth
    Salary: £15ph + Door-to-Door Pay
    Shift: Monday – Friday (37 hours)
    Overtime – Offered at 1.5x

    My client, a leading national provider of Automatic and Industrial Door Systems, is on the lookout for a Trainee Engineer to join their field service team. This is a secure, full-time role with structured support, strong benefits, and long-term progression opportunities.

    As a Trainee Engineer you will be responsible for
    Working alongside a senior engineer to learn all aspects of the role, with the aim of becoming a fully competent door engineer able to work independently
    Repair, service & install a full range of industrial & commercial doors, gates, barriers and loading bay equipment across industrial, commercial, educational and residential sites
    Supporting preventative maintenance, fault finding and repair work
    Assisting with dynamic risk assessments and RAMS
    Completing job-related documentation, timesheets and service reports
    Supporting vehicle checks, van stock management and materials coordination
    Identifying hazards on customer sites and maintaining safe working practices
    Supporting customer surveys, site walkthroughs and internal communication with depot and regional teams
    Attending health & safety meetings and supporting continuous improvement initiatives
    Assisting with out of hours rota work when required

    The successful Trainee Engineer will have the following experience
    A willingness to learn and develop into a fully qualified engineer
    Good communication skills and a strong team player mentality
    Basic mechanical or electrical awareness (advantageous but not essential)
    Well organised with good housekeeping standards
    Flexible and adaptable approach to field-based work
    Driver’s licence required
    Computer literate with good people skills
